While another review describes Michelle’s playing as similar to Roger Fisher from Miami Sound Machine, and gargling vocals with a versatility sounding different with each piece – Grace Jones, Etta James, Janis Joplin, Annie Lennox, or Al Jarreau. While as singer-songwriter, she's been described as giving “100 inspiring minutes,” convincing with “great jazz-pop ballads” & “great songwriting.” A multi-dimensional & authentic artist, Michelle finds identity with young multi-dimensional talents as Cyrille Aimee, Jon Batiste, Jacob Collier, while inspired by the greats as Quincy Jones, Betty Carter.

YOLO ALBUM

Yolo (you only live once) was birthed after Michelle suffered several health scares during the pandemic, at one point indicating that she may not live much longer. Thankfully, her health stabilized and she set out to produce this dream EP of horns and strings from Italy with Michelle personally directing recording sessions in Italian studios where Elton John & Gregory Porter had recorded, and brought in strong Singapore-based artists like Christy Smith (Wynton Marsalis, Aaron Copland, Jeremy Monteiro), soundscape additions by Kenn Lim (A*mei, JJ Lin- Asia megastars music director), along with post production by Grammy nominated engineer Jerry Chua (Arun Shenoy), and mastering by Simon Cotsworth (Incognito, Seal).

Michelle believes in music as a tool for sharing stories that resonate with the soul.

The song “I Just Want To Be Me” gives upbeat liberating vibes with jazzy interjections; “Shark Filled Oasis” lends Sinatra/Buble’ big band vibes; “Lonesome Star,” wistful longing for a tribe to belong, compelled by convincing strings; “Don't Have to Turn Back,” a ballad for a thoughtful drive through scenic routes, forging ahead never looking back; and “Serenity,” featuring expressive dynamic vocals set to a great string score, soundscape, and grand movie vibe
